When Someone Keeps Pushing

Words and Moves

Iris, your guide

Words and Moves

Here are some short things you could say. You don't have to use them. Each one comes with something you can do.

Pause

"I need time." · "I'm not deciding now."

Then: wait, stop replying, or check with someone.

Limit

"No." · "I don't want that." · "I'm not doing that."

Then: end it, move somewhere else, or bring in another person.

Change

"I've changed my mind." · "I need to go."

Then: leave, call for a ride, move toward trusted people, or open Need Help?

Tell

"They kept pressuring me after I tried to stop." · "I need help leaving this."

Then: tell a safe adult or get help.

You don't have to explain, apologize, sound confident, or say it perfectly. You can use your own words — or no words and just leave.

Optional activity · nothing is saved

Someone keeps asking you to come somewhere after you said you'd rather not.
